Collaborating with Shopee, BSI encourages SMEs to go digital based on sharia

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. OJK data states, Islamic banking financing to MSMEs grew positively in January 2021. The pandemic conditions have also changed people’s behavior to become go digital, resulting in an increase in sales online via marketplace.

Bank Syariah Indonesia or BSI, in collaboration with Shopee Indonesia, launched a Go Digital Training for 1,000 MSMEs throughout Indonesia, starting from June to November 2021. BSI noted that there are around 60 million MSMEs in Indonesia that need to get support and access in developing businesses and adapting to go digital. .

“As of May 2021, BSI has distributed MSME financing reaching Rp33.06 trillion or 22.57% of the total BSI financing. This figure is supported by various programs and financing synergies with Islamic boarding schools, BUMN, and other institutions Retail Banking BSI, Kokok Alun Akbar in a press release received by KONTAN on Sunday (27/6).

The training consists of the process of fostering MSMEs starting from understanding business potential online, customer behavior, product photography, copywriting to marketing in e-commerce. BSI also carried out several developments in the form of assistance, financing, to education and literacy for MSMEs in Indonesia.

Alun explained, BSI is ready to become a financial partner of MSMEs through access to micro capital, coaching and facilitators with para standby buyer through good product marketing offline nor online. Currently, BSI has BSI KUR financing products with financing ceilings ranging from 10 million to 500 million with sharia-compliant contracts.

The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs noted that as of May 2021 various breakthroughs had been made to support the digitization of MSMEs and achieve the realization target of MSME business distribution. Including the development of a platform for trade area, optimize the role of aggregators and reseller, market expansion and improvement of human resources, financial assistance for MSMEs under the umbrella of PEN through the BPUM (Micro Business Productive Assistance) program, Super Micro KUR subsidies and cooperative capital through LPDB.
