This Thursday, at 10 a.m., Météo France extended the list of departments placed on orange snow-ice, extreme cold or flood alert. From 20 departments early this morning, it drops to 23.
The following are therefore now concerned: Deux-Sèvres, Maine-et-Loire, Vendée and Vienne are added to Loire-Atlantique, Morbihan, Finistère, Côtes d’Armor for snow and ice; Yonne, Côte-d’Or, Aube, Haute-Marne, Haute-Saône, the territory of Belfort, Haut-Rhin, Bas-Rhin, Vosges, Moselle, Meurthe-et -Moselle and the Meuse for extreme cold; Charente-Maritime, Somme, Seine-et-Marne for risk of flooding.
The temperatures will remain freezing in the days to come (up to -19 degrees felt).

The snow has not said its last word. This Thursday, February 11, 2021, with the drop in temperatures and the formation of freezing patches, Meteo France placed 23 departments of the northern half of the country in vigilance orange cold, snow-ice and floods.
Polar temperatures
Aube, Côte-d’Or, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin, Haute-Saône, Vosges, Yonne and the Territory of Belfort are therefore affected by the extreme cold alert.
Côtes-d’Armor, Deux-Sèvres, Finistère, Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Morbihan and Vienne are themselves subject to snow and ice vigilance.
Finally, Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Seine-et-Marne and the Sum are once again vigilant risk of flooding.

Already, early this morning, the meteorological agency raised “freezing” temperatures, which should last “several days”: -8 degrees in Troyes, -8 degrees in Belfort, -6 degrees in Mulhouse, -9 degrees in Epinal, -7 degrees in Langres, -9 degrees in Strasbourg, -9 degrees in Bar -le-Duc, -9 degrees in Metz and -11 degrees in Nancy.

New snowfall in the West
As yesterday, the Breton point should experience a new snow disturbance this Thursday morning. The latter will be “followed by freezing rain from midday, making roads slippery, ”explains Météo France.
In the areas concerned, the feeling of cold will also be “greatly increased” due to a “north-easterly” wind. “The feeling in the colder areas will reach -15 to -20. As for the temperatures, they “will remain negative”, continues the weather agency, “between -3 and 0 degrees”.
What weather in the next few days?
Friday will also be very cool: minimum temperatures will be between -7 degrees and -12 degrees and maximums between -2 degrees and 1 degree.
The wind will still be sensitive, a little stronger than the day before. This wind will accentuate the feeling of cold: the feeling will be between -14 and -19.
This weekend the weather will remain freezing, “With minimum temperatures sometimes below -10 degrees and locally without thaw during the day”, concludes Météo France.
