Cold continues in northern and central Vietnam | Environment

Hanoi (VNA) – Northern and North Central regions of Vietnam continue to record a Cold weatherwhile the south central, southern and western highlands will report rain and thunderstorms today, according to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting.

The northwestern region will see the lowest temperature of 14-17 degrees Celsius and below 11 degrees Celsius in some areas, while the highest temperature can reach 19-22 degrees Celsius and over 22 degrees Celsius in some areas.

In the northeastern provinces, the temperature can drop to 15-18 degrees Celsius, and even below 13 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas. The maximum temperature is 18-21 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi, the temperature is expected to range between 16 and 20 degrees Celsius.

From January 5 to 7, Thua Thien – Hue area in Ninh Thuan will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 100-300 mm and even more than 350 mm in some places.

The area of Quang Tri in Binh Thuan, and the eastern part of the Western Highlands will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms with precipitation of 50-150 mm and more than 200 mm in some places.

From the afternoon of January 5 to 6, strong rainy and thunderstorms in some particular areas of the southern provinces with rainfall of 40-70 mm and 100 mm in some areas./.
