Rome, 9 November 2024 – Confirmed weather forecast of recent days: thewinter is about to overlook Italy. The days of mild temperatures are numbered because they are expected next week rain, wind, snow on the hills and a widespread heat drop. L’Indian summer this year, it actually coincides with the winter turning point. The forecasts of the meteorologist Mattia Gussoni, of the website ilMeteo.it, according to which from Tuesday 12 November “the Italian weather scenario will change completely”. However, a weekend “still mild and partly sunny”, with highs of up to 25 degrees in Sardinia and Sicily, 23 degrees in Reggio Calabria and Taranto, 21 degrees in Rome and Naples. But these are the last blows of the unseasonal heat.

The first signs of change are however expected in the Po Valley with night fogs and rain in Sardinia and Sicily and locally along the Tyrrhenian coast. A “slight drop in temperatures with moderate easterly winds” and more rain in the South is expected for Monday 11 November. Tuesday 12 instead it will be the day of the cold outbreak, with a drop in maximum temperatures of 7-8 degrees and the first snowfalls above 1,400 meters in the Alps and Apenninesstrengthening wind and presence of two low pressure troughs, one in the South and one in the North.
Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th wind, rain and. are expected snow up to 1,200 meters altitude in the northern regions, locally also at lower altitudes. It’s possible that the two low pressure areas present in the South and North meet in the Central Tyrrhenian Seacausing “strong windstorms” accompanied by “significant rainfall”.
The Meteored site reports the risk of heavy bad weather. “The Major Islands – we read – will have to deal with yet another depression at a blocked altitude, which could cause abundant rainfall, but also extreme weather phenomena. The persistence of this depression, between the Sardinia Channel and the westernmost sector of the lower Tyrrhenian Sea, due to the action of the usual anticyclonic block to the East, will continue to convey very humid air, mainly with sirocco and eastern winds, which will make the the troposphere.
Experts warn that “precipitation occurs in localized areas where the uplift mechanisms will arise air mass and condensation of water vapor and therefore predominantly on local confluence lines triggered by small vortices and by the interaction of the local orography, with the eastern synoptic flow”. At the moment the most marked risk “is for the areas of Western and southern Sicilywhile from Tuesday the possibility of storms and extreme rain events will be greater right on Eastern Sicilyespecially between Catanese and Messina”.
