Moments of fear at the arrival of Sant Felie de Guixols where the blue, second in the sprint, after the finish line collapsed to the ground and was rescued by an ambulance
Fear of the arrival of the first stage of the Tour of Catalonia. Sonny Colbrelli, 31-year-old Bahrain Victorious runner, fell ill once he crossed the finish line – second behind winner Michael Matthews – and was immediately rescued, complete with heart massage. The blue, who won the Paris-Roubaix last October, would have been the victim of a collapse and was then transported to the hospital in Girona, once he was conscious. In the evening the first statement from Bahrain Victorius confirming the first information on the incident: «After the sprint of the first stage of the Volta a Catalunya, Sonny Colbrelli fell unconscious. Colbrelli received medical assistance and was in stable condition when he was taken by ambulance to the Hospital Universitari de Girona for further investigation of his condition.
