Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson) made history in 2018 with “All In.” This event indirectly led to the founding of AEW. Rhodes left AEW in February 2022 and has since become the face of WWE. Now he reigns supreme as the Undisputed WWE Champion. At a virtual book signing with Highsports Superstore, the first “All In” came up and DDP looked back at how Cody Rhodes led the first show backstage.
“What was cool about ‘All In’ was that Cody was back there, literally running the show, just like his dad was back then. Nobody knew back then where the journey would lead. He was like, ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to this place again, I just want everyone to have fun.’ It was so cool to have been there. Seeing that and how much fun he had back there.”
MVP has recently spoken frequently about his frustration with the Hurt Business and how it has progressed in WWE. Neither Vince McMahon nor later Triple H implemented the idea of a reunion. MVP and Bobby Lashley left WWE and signed with AEW, MVP debuted there in September, Lashley followed in October. Shelton Benjamin is also there and forms the “Hurt Syndicate”. MVP shared some of his thoughts on the Hurt Business on X (formerly Twitter). In a now-deleted post, he noted that there was a moment during the pandemic when “the old man,” presumably Vince McMahon, wanted to turn The Hurt Business into a Nation of Domination 2.0, and he brought in “Mark and Ron” ( probably Mark Henry and Ron Simmons). MVP wrote that they fought back, saying that their group was never about race, but always about their natural friendship and their desire to make money doing what they love.
Despite returning to the ring following his injury, El Hijo del Vikingo will not be making his UK debut this weekend. Vikingo should be on November 24th. have a match against Cara Noir at PROGRESS Wrestling in London. PROGRESS has since announced that Vikingo will not be competing. But they are working on finding a new date for Vikingo and hope that he can make his debut in the promotion soon. PROGRESS wrote:
“El Hijo del Vikingo’s injury update: Despite his recovery, he will not be ready to compete at the level he would like for his European debut! We are working on a new date with Vikingo and hope to see him in a PROGRESS ring soon, hopefully before the end of the year.”
After a seven-month break due to knee surgery, Vikingo made his in-ring return in September, but suffered an injury on October 27th. Another injury at TNA TV tapings. This did not turn out to be serious, but required a break of several weeks. On November 17th Vikingo then returned to the ring in his native Mexico at a AAA event.
In an interview with “The Infamous Show”, Taz spoke about his time off and the status quo of his healing process. As is well known, he had to have an operation a few weeks ago and had an artificial knee inserted:
“As for the knee thing, I’m recovering. I do a lot of physiotherapy now, three days a week, plus some therapeutic sessions at home. You really have to train the prosthesis and all that. I’ve always been nervous and it’s only been five weeks, but if you need it you should get it done because I feel better already. The arthritis is gone. It’s great.”
