Los Angeles Dodgers took the series against the San Diego Padres forcefully: the Los Angeles team beat up their rival in their own home (10-2) with a display of power from Cody Bellingerwho hit a pair of homers in another solid start from Clayton Kershaw.
Kershaw, who started the match intractable, had the support of his teammates from the very first episode. Justin Turner and a sacrifice fly started the series of runs the Dodgers would score during the game.
Two innings later, Freddie Freeman hit his first home run at Petco Park in an LA jersey. Two-run shot from the left-hander against a left-handed starter (Sean Manaea).
The lefties were the protagonists of this meeting. In the fourth, Cody Bellinger hit a solo shot to wide center field to extend the lead. 4-0 at that time.
The Padres discounted in an inaccurate fourth inning by Kershaw, who allowed four hits and struck out three in five innings of work. However, this was only the previous to the final attack of the Dodgers.
In the fifth inning the game opened wide. Los Angeles put together a four-run rally that was capped off by another home run from Bellinger, in this case a three-run homer. Many LA fans at Petco Park enjoyed it.
In the sixth the Dodgers scored again. They added their last two runs to further secure the challenge and also the leadership of the National League West Division. 10-2 was the end.
Clayton Kershaw won his third game of the season (3-0, 2.65 ERA). Cody Bellinger hit four home runs and eight RBIs. Freeman to three home runs and nine RBIs. Day of lefties in a new beating of the Dodgers.
