Codemasters Studio Leadership Ends – Zing

While the British studio Codemasters is slowly preparing for the release of F1 2021, which is waiting for us next week, it also announced one unpleasant news. At the end of the month, the company will be abandoned by its current CEO Frank Sagnier and CFO Rashid Varachia, the magazine informed about it. Gamesindustry.biz. They will be replaced by Clive Moody, vice president of development, and Jonathan Bunnery, vice president of publishing. Slighty Mad Studio, which has been part of Codemasters since 2019, will continue to be run by Ian Bell.

The company Electronic Arts, which a few months ago Codemasters bought back, claims that the departure of these key employees was planned from the beginning. She commented on the situation as follows:

“Since 2014, Frank has led Codemasters into the position of a world-famous studio of racing experts, whose talent and passion for motorsport shone on the world stage thanks to him.

Rashid’s financial management was also the key to Codemasters’ success. Thanks to him, the key acquisitions, entry into the stock market in 2018 and also the integration of the studio into EA.

We are very grateful to Frank and Rashid for everything they did for Codemasters and Electronic Arts. We wish them the best. We know the culture they have created, and their innovative spirit will continue in the studio thanks to their excellent leadership.

Although we don’t know yet what it will mean in bucoucno, Codemasters fans aren’t exactly thrilled with this announcement. After all, EA does not have a very good reputation for handling purchased studies.

But it is too early for any evaluation yet. The first game that Codemasters will release under the heading Electronic Arts will be F1 2021. The release is set for July 16 (13th for owners of the Deluxe Edition). The game is aimed at PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
