The KNMI warns of fierce thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon. That is why code yellow will be in effect for hours throughout almost the entire country tomorrow.
The warning does not apply to North Holland, Friesland and the Wadden area.
The showers will move northeastward over the Netherlands during the afternoon. The KNMI expects the heaviest showers to fall between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Hailstones of about 2 centimeters can fall.
The storm is accompanied by heavy wind gusts of up to 75 kilometers per hour. Locally, wind gusts of up to 90 kilometers per hour can occur.
