CoD: Warzone Gets a Solid Expansion (Leaked)

Dataminers discover that an old familiar map is coming to Call of Duty: Warzone as an extension of the current map, Verdansk.

Activision made previously known that Call of Duty: Black Ops would merge Cold War with Warzone. How exactly, that was still unclear. Now, however, everything falls into place, after a data miner gives the first push. Investigators then quickly figure out what’s to come, namely a brand new expansion for Warzone!

Warzone is getting an expansion

After the arrival of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, it was announced that battle royale Warzone would merge with that game. I speculated that at least some guns would blow over, but now it appears that the plans are much grander.

What seems? The official road map for Black Ops hinted at an addition for Warzone with what looks like the letters ‘eniya Island’. The Call of Duty community speculated that it is a reference to ‘Vozrozhdeniya Island’. But what does that have to do with Warzone’s expansion?

The last piece of the puzzle is in the translation of ‘Vozrozhdeniya’, which means ‘Rebirth’. For veteran Black Ops fans this is a familiar term, because that was what a mission was called in the original BlackOps. And yes, mission ‘Rebirth’ took place on the island of Vozrozhdeniya.

New map

On the other hand, the folder is not copied one to one. Instead, Activision is reportedly moving the Blackout map Alcatraz as an extension to Warzone. Of course under the new name ‘Vozrozhdeniya Island’, because Warzone does take place in Verdansk.

Exactly what the expansion will mean for Warzone will be announced very soon. Season 1 for Black Ops Cold War kicks off on December 10, when the Warzone expansion will also be released. On the one hand, it could be an extra region in Verdansk. But some fans are speculating that a second map, Alcatraz, is coming to Warzone. That would be struggling to survive with fewer players.
