We know that the Festicacao and the Festicoffee, the Cameroonian cocoa and coffee festivals, had been suspended since 2020 due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. ” We are here to congratulate you on your constancy in action, but above all to invite you to awaken to the new challenges which challenge us and which place you, as an umbrella structure, at the center of the game. Our presence reflects the government’s support for the cocoa and coffee sectors and their actors, first and foremost with the producers, but also the processing industries, without forgetting the consumers in line with the policy of production, processing and local consumption of our products said Mincommerce.

With a budget of 2.9 billion F, the Cicc intends to ensure the implementation of several programs. In particular, the acceleration of the identification of producers; the resumption of the “Festicacao” and “Festicofee” promotional events; expanding the deployment of cocoa and coffee promotion and tasting days. These festivals are the second event to promote the cocoa and coffee sectors in Cameroon, of which the CICC announces the relaunch in this year 2023.

Promotion of made in Cameroon

Since last February, the cocoa-coffee interprofession has relaunched its traditional monthly days of promotion (JMP) and tasting of cocoa and coffee, after a 2-year eclipse due to Coronavirus. According to the government and the players in the cocoa-coffee sector, since their establishment, both the JMPs and Festicacao and Festicoffee have been part of the catalysts for the increase observed in the local consumption of coffee and cocoa-derived products in Cameroon. Recall that some time ago, the Cicc organized at the esplanade of the Caisse Nationale de Prévoyance Sociale (Cnps) in Yaoundé, the monthly coffee promotion day.

Many exhibitors, mostly farmers and especially producers, buyers, exporters and many others were present at this meeting to make their know-how known and above all to sell the Cameroon destination through their Made in Cameroon products. . These products, it should be remembered, are very often the result of numerous support initiatives carried out by the government either in incubation mode or through various financial supports.
