In the tie-break, Mirra Andreeva managed to better manage the important points to take the lead for her first Grand Slam third round. But in the next two sets, Coco Gauff made her experience speak and left her opponent only two short games.

In the previous rounds of the Porte d’Auteuil tournament, the 19-year-old American had won against the Spaniard Rebeka Masarova (3-6, 6-1, 6-2), and had clearly dominated the Austrian Julia Grabher (6-2, 6-3).
Andreeva, 143rd in the world at the WTA, had beaten the American Alison Riske-Amritraj without being worried by the score (6-2, 6-1), and the French wild card Diane Parry (6-1, 6-2).
