Cockney Rebel’s Steve Harley has died

Steve Harley is dead.

The British singer known from the band Cockney Rebel was 73 years old.

– We know that he will be incredibly missed by people all over the world, says daughter Greta to the BBC.

Canceled gigs

Harley recently canceled his tour and then announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer.

In a statement made by the family, they describe him as passionate, kind and generous. His wife, children and grandchildren were there when Harley fell asleep.

“The birdsong of his woodland that he loved so much sang to him. His home was filled with the sound and laughter of his four grandchildren”.

Steve Harley turned 73 years old.

Cockney Rebel was formed in London in the early 70s.

They are best known for the hit song “Make me smile” which topped the British charts in 1975.
