‘Cocaine trafficking’, son of boss Antonio Papalia arrested

(ANSA) – MILAN, OCTOBER 16 – Domenico Papalia, son of the historic ‘Ndrangheta boss in Lombardy Antonio, was arrested, with a precautionary custody order in prison, in an investigation by Milan prosecutors Sara Ombra and Leonardo Lesti with al center the accusation of association for the purpose of drug trafficking, in particular cocaine. Investigation conducted by the Gico of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Milanese Gdf. In particular, as anticipated online by Corriere della Sera and Il Fatto Quotidiano and confirmed by qualified sources, in recent days five precautionary measures were carried out by the Gdf, including that against Domenico Papalia, 41 years old and already involved in other investigations in the past. The name of Domenico Papalia, among other things, appears (but not as a suspect) in the documents of the Milanese investigation into the San Siro curves, which led to 19 arrests more than two weeks ago. In the documents, in fact, it is reported that the Milan ultra leader Luca Lucci, who ended up in prison, would be “close” to Rosario Calabria, in turn linked to Domenico Papalia, “Antonio’s son”, imprisoned for life and “belonging to the homonymous ‘Ndrangheta family orbiting in the Milan area (Corsico/Buccinasco)”. In the investigation into drug trafficking from Northern Europe, which involves over 50 suspects, some requests for precautionary measures were rejected by the investigating judge Anna Calabi, who at the same time scheduled preventive interrogations for other suspects on the hypothesis of drug dealing – first of the decision on the measures – foreseen by the recent reform.
