In the Czech Republic, for the second time, cocaine is delivered to a store together with bananas. For the first time, such a case was recorded in the “Lidl” store chain in Prague, but this time the cocaine was delivered in the Czech city of Klečani, “The Insider” reports.
Employees of the distribution center of the food chain “Albert” in the Czech city of Klecani found cocaine briquettes with a total weight of 646 kg in boxes of bananas. The cost of such a quantity of cocaine on the black market is approximately 8.3 million euros.
“We checked the entire batch of bananas that went to the Czech Republic from Ecuador via Amsterdam. A logistical error may have occurred – someone from the organized crime group failed to remove the narcotic substances from the fruit cargo in time. A criminal case has been initiated, it is being investigated who sent and for whom these drugs were intended,” said a police representative.
Previously, cocaine was found in boxes of bananas in a Lidl supermarket in Prague. The boxes contained 100 kg of cocaine. The police investigated the case for two years, but eventually closed the case.
