The trial against them will be held this Tuesday at the Provincial Court of Cantabria

SANTANDER, 24 (EUROPA PRESS)

The Prosecutor’s Office has requested four and eight years in prison for two accused of trafficking cocaine and hashish in Cantabria and Vizcaya, one of them a repeat offender.

According to the tax document, the former was engaged in cocaine trafficking in an apartment he owned in Galdácano, where on one occasion the police observed that a person – already deceased – left carrying a box containing a one-kilo tablet of cocaine.

At the entrance and search of the aforementioned apartment, 33,500 euros in split bills from drug trafficking were found, several plastic bags containing 242 grams of cocaine valued at 16,227 euros, precision scales and substance to cut the drug.

In addition, in the defendant’s habitual home, located in Castro Urdiales, the police found identity documents of various people, plane tickets abroad in the name of third parties, a large number of mobile terminals, lottery tickets, numerous receipts for sending money abroad and ten bottles of a substance to cut drugs.

In a vehicle that the defendant had rented, 3,500 euros from drug trafficking were also found.

On the other hand, the agents carried out a search of a store located in Santander that the second defendant used and to which the first went on brief visits.

In the warehouse, 2.8 kilos of cannabis resin and 6 grams of cocaine were seized, substances that he kept for distribution to third parties and which have been valued at 16,600 euros and 150 euros, respectively. Bags with bills of various values, totaling 293,750 euros, were also found in the warehouse.

The facts constitute, in the opinion of the prosecution, two crimes against public health involving substances that cause serious harm, deserving of an eight-year prison sentence and a fine of 90,000 euros for the first, who is a repeat offender; and four years in prison and a fine of 20,000 euros for the second.

Both will be tried tomorrow, Tuesday, April 25, at 10:00 a.m., in the Third Section of the Provincial Court of Cantabria.
