The Ministry of Education (MINEDU) is scheduled to release the final results of the COAR 2025 admission process this Friday, March 7. This highly competitive selection system offers students with extraordinary academic records the opportunity to attend a High Performance College (COAR) in their respective regions. Thousands of students across Peru are eagerly awaiting the proclamation, wich will significantly impact their academic paths.The COAR program aims to provide a challenging educational environment for talented students in the third, fourth, and fifth years of high school.

The COAR program is designed to challenge and nurture talented students in the third, fourth, and fifth years of high school. It focuses on developing their academic, artistic, and athletic abilities through advanced teaching methods. A significant advantage of attending a COAR is the opportunity to earn an international baccalaureate, a qualification recognized by over 2,000 universities worldwide. The curriculum also includes instruction in three languages: English,French,and Mandarin chinese,preparing students for a globalized world.

This year’s COAR 2025 admission process began with 23,975 applicants who met the initial eligibility criteria for the written evaluation. The written evaluation,which assessed reading and mathematical competencies,took place on February 16. Only 4,231 students demonstrated sufficient aptitude to proceed to the final stage of the selection process.

The second phase, held between February 28 and March 2, involved personal interviews designed to evaluate essential interpersonal skills. thes interviews assessed qualities such as teamwork,empathy,communication skills,and tolerance. This thorough evaluation process ensures that students admitted to COAR possess not only academic excellence but also the personal attributes necessary to succeed in a collaborative and demanding learning environment.

Gaining admission to a High Performance College is a competitive process with specific requirements. Applicants must have been born after march 31, 2009, and must have the consent of their parents or legal guardians. Moreover, they must have demonstrated high academic achievement in their previous school.

The regions with the highest numbers of applicants were Metropolitan Lima with 2,932, Ayacucho with 1,553, Piura with 1,444, Arequipa with 1,344, and Puno with 1,285. Notably, 44% of the applicants came from rural areas, highlighting the program’s nationwide reach and its impact on diverse communities.

Currently, there are 25 COARs located in various regions throughout the country, including Metropolitan Lima, Arequipa, Piura, Cusco, Junín, La Libertad, Puno, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Loreto, Tacna, Ucayali, Moquegua, Ica, Huánuco, Apurímac, San Martín, Pasco, Tumbes, Amazonas, Áncash, Huancavelica, Madre de Dios, and lambayeque.
