/ world today news/ Deputies from the “BOSTAN” coalition adopted the bill for updating the state budget for 2014 in the first reading.
117 MPs voted “for”, “against” – 61. There were no abstentions.
“The motive for updating the budget is to strengthen the fiscal buffers available to the government with a view to guaranteeing the financial stability of the country, to leave the possibility of having buffers in a situation where public trust in the institutions is seriously shaken.” This is what the resigned Minister of Finance Petar Chobanov said during the debates.
“Today’s debate is unprecedented, because three committees have voted against the budget update. This is not a project of the Oresharski government, it is a budget of President Plevneliev. How else can we explain the desire to sign a blank check to a non-existent government?”, said his party the chairman of the PG of the Coalition for Bulgaria Atanas Merdzhanov.
“The money from the budget update will not be used for any purpose other than to ensure financial stability in case of need. We made a political decision with the president to update the budget. We are talking about a political decision there. This update is very accurate,” said a deputy – the chairman of the PG of the DPS and chairman of the Committee on Budget and Finance Yordan Tsonev.
