Coachella eliminates vaccine as a requirement, a negative test will suffice

The music festival decided to change its policy of only receiving fans inoculated against Covid-19 and now it is enough to present a negative test.

The test to enter the Coachella Festival, which will take place April 15-17 in Riverside, California, must be taken 72 hours before the show.

“After seeing first-hand the drop in transmission and the successful implementation of security protocols at our other festivals last month, we are confident that we can update our health policy,” the organizers said in a statement.

The measure will also be applied to the country music festival Stagecoach, which takes place a week after Coachella.

Originally, the company AEG Presents, behind the show, had adopted the measure due to the expansion of the Delta variant and the refusals in the United States to be vaccinated.

“We had planned to update the policy if Covid-19 conditions improved, which we said since we announced it,” a company spokesperson told Billboard magazine.
