The 2022 edition of Coachella was made without Kanye West who announced through his media manager that he was withdrawing from the festival lineup. The news surprised fans and organizers who said they were caught off guard.
In an interview given to Los Angeles Timesthe co-founder of Coachella, Paul Tollet returned to the situation. He explains that the rapper’s decision was a big difficulty for them, however, they are on very good terms. He declares : “I spoke with him a few days ago via zoom, and I think it was a good decision for him”.
Take away I explained that The Weeknd et Sal Slaiby came to see what the current need and conditions were. He replied to them: “Actually, I don’t know yet. Right now, I’m a bit stunned by Kanye’s departure. I have to think about what to do”. To finish, The Weeknd et Swedish House Mafia headlined the festival.
Moreover, Paul Tollet also announced through the interview that Frank Ocean will be the headliner for Coachella 2023.
