After four years, coach Jozef Weber will lead Karviná again. He last worked in Mladá Boleslav, from where he was released in December. The Silesians informed about his engagement on their website, but did not state the length of the contract. Currently, the thirteenth team of the first league table was already coached by 50-year-old Weber from 2014 to 2017.
“Hiring Jozef Weber was our priority. Jožka knows our environment very well and we are very happy that we agreed. I am really happy to welcome him to our club again after more than three years,” said sports director Karviná Lubomír Vlk.
Former midfielder Weber used to wear the jersey of Sparta, Cheb, Drnovice and Jablonec, where he started working as an assistant after the end of his playing career in 2007. He first worked as a head coach from 2012 to 2014 on the Bohemians 1905 bench.
For the same reason, Karviná removed coach Juraj Jarábek a week ago. In Saturday’s league duel with Olomouc (0: 1), the team was temporarily led by his assistants Petr Mašlej and Marek Biela, who will also no longer work for the A-team. The Slezans did not win six rounds in a row and are ten points apart from the first descent.
