Coach Turkmenistan U-23 Ahmet Agamyradov is in favor U-23 Indonesian National Team qualify for the semifinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup in Qatar, 15 April-3 May 2024.
Turkmenistan failed to reach the final round of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup after losing 0-2 to Indonesia in the final Group K match of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup Qualification at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Tuesday (12/9).
The Indonesian U-23 national team won 2-0 over Turkmenistan thanks to Ivar Jenner’s goal in the 40th minute and Pratama Arhan’s header in the 90+2 minute.
After the match Ahmet Agamyradov congratulated Indonesia. The 44-year-old coach also prayed that Garuda Muda would qualify for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup semifinals.
“The Indonesian team prepared good tactics. Maybe they can qualify for the semifinals,” said Agamyradov, quoted by Antara.
The top three teams in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup will automatically qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
On that occasion, Agamyradov also expressed his appreciation to Shin Tae Yong for bringing the U-23 National Team to qualify for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup.
“The coach has done his job well for three years, since 2020. The players, some of the players play in the national team, as I know, and take this experience,” said Agamyradov.
“In my opinion, the Indonesian team is very strong and has good quality,” added Agamyradov.
Ahead of the draw for the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup group stage, the Indonesian national team is in Pot 4 with Malaysia, Tajikistan and China.
By occupying Pot 4 for the drawing, the U-23 Indonesian National Team has the opportunity to be in the same group as rivals in Southeast Asia, such as Vietnam and Thailand.
Apart from Thailand and Vietnam, Indonesia also has the potential to face strong teams such as hosts Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan or Japan.
