German coach Tomas Oral is taking on a new role at GC Zurich in Switzerland. The club announced that he received a contract for the current season with the bottom team in the Super League. The 51-year-old Oral last looked after the then second division team SV Sandhausen in the 2022/23 season, but remained winless in six games and only picked up two points during his time at Hardtwald.
“For me it is important that it fits on both sides and I am really looking forward to the challenge,” said Oral. “I am convinced of the potential of the team and the club.”

In Zurich, the coach, who also coached FC Ingolstadt, Karlsruher SC, RB Leipzig and FC Fulham in England, is supported by Michael Henke. The 67-year-old worked for a long time as an assistant to successful coach Ottmar Hitzfeld at Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern Munich. The two new GCZ managers already know each other from Ingolstadt.
