Coach Marek Nikl finished in České Budějovice. From the pair of coaches, only Tomáš Zápotočný will continue to lead the team, Jiří Lerch and Jiří Kladrubský will remain his assistants. This is a surprising step, because the chairman of the board of directors of Dynamo Vladimír Koubek stated at the beginning of the international break at a meeting with the fans that both coaches have his trust.
“The management of the SK Dynamo České Budějovice club and coach Marek Nikl have agreed today to end their cooperation. We thank Mark for the work he has done for Dynamo and wish him much success in his future career,” reads the short statement.
“We made this decision due to unsatisfactory and unacceptable results. The implementation team now officially gets one boss, it is an impulse and a message to the cabin. At the same time, by basically reducing and modifying the implementation team, we maintain the continuity of our work and hope to make it more efficient ,” quoted the infotbal.cz server of South Bohemia’s sports manager Jan Podroužek.

Nikl is the fourth head coach to retire during the fall season. Already in September in Hradec Králové, Jozef Weber was replaced on the bench by Václav Kotal, and in Karviná, Juraj Jarábek replaced Tomáš Hejdušek after he was dismissed. A month ago, Bronislav Červenka took over Zlín after Pavlo Vrbo.
Forty-seven-year-old Nikl came to the south of Bohemia a year ago from the second division Příbram together with Zápotoční and in the last season of the top competition he helped Dynamo to tenth place and participation in the extension group for placement. However, Český Budějovice are not doing well in the current league season and are in last place after 15 rounds. Dynamo lost four times in a row in the top competition, and during the international break, they were eliminated in the round of 16 of the cup against Jablonec.
Zápotočný will lead the South Bohemian team himself for the first time in the role of head coach on Saturday at the pitch of Slavia Prague. So far, he has officially appeared in matches as Nikl’s assistant.
