Coach André Schubert released – after only nine games

At the end of September, André Schubert became head coach of second division bottom FC Ingolstadt. He should lead the team to keep up. But only a few weeks later, Schubert is gone again.

FC Ingolstadt has sacked coach André Schubert. The club announced on Wednesday. Schubert had only been the Schanzer’s coach for nine games: eight times in the 2nd Bundesliga and once in the DFB Cup. He lost six of these games, three ended in a draw.

Co-trainer Thomas Karg will take over the management of the training on an interim basis. He is supported by athletic trainer Luca Schuster.

Schubert is already the second coach to leave FC Ingolstadt this season. Roberto Pätzold was also dismissed after nine games. With 7 points after 16 games, the club is in last place in the 2nd Bundesliga. The gap to the penultimate, SV Sandhausen, is already 6 points.
