CO2 Electrolyzer Development Project: Breakthrough Solutions for Sustainable Fuel and Chemical Production – University of Grenoble Alpes

The development of the CO2 electrolyzer at the Laboratory of Electrochemistry and Physicochemistry of Materials and Interfaces (Lepmi) is an integral part of a major project by the University of Grenoble Alpes called DefiCO2, aimed at capturing and using atmospheric CO2 to produce fuels or basic chemicals using decarbonized energy sources. This project takes the form of a consortium made up of an interdisciplinary team, comprising thirteen laboratories covering various fields, such as biology, chemistry, physics, engineering sciences and human and social sciences. The aim of this work is to achieve, thanks to a common vision of scientists with diverse expertise, breakthrough solutions and emerging technologies. The LEPMI CO2 electrolyser development project started a year ago and has Idex (Excellence Initiative) funding. A thesis on this subject will start next October.
