Phasmophobia is the latest hype in gamesland: a co-op horror game in which the ghosts actually hear you. Let us know in the comments whether Tjeerd should start streaming it (yes).
Horror game Phasmophobia peaked at 86,000 concurrent players on Steam last weekend. That reports analysis platform Githyp.
This made Phasmophobia the fifth most played game on the platform. The game is also doing well on Twitch, averaging over the past seven days 84 thousand viewers and a peak of 247 thousand simultaneous viewers.
Phasmophobia appeared on September 18 and has quickly grown in popularity. In the games you have to play with three others to find ghosts with different tools. The game uses speech recognition, where ghosts respond to some words. The game also supports virtual reality.
Developer Kinetic Games – which consists of one developer – keeps track of upcoming features through one Trello. For example, three new levels are in the works, ghosts will get votes when they hunt and there will be a PvP mode where a player controls the ghost.
Phasmophobia is now available on Steam as Early Access.
