Co-founder Kassav’ passed away after COVID-19 infection



Jacob Desvarieux, co-founder of the popular group Kassav’, passed away on Friday 30 July at the age of 65. Desvarieux tested positive for COVID-19 on July 12 and was then placed in an artificial coma to provide him with needed care.

The musician who was a diabetic had gone to the hospital in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe as part of the periodic checkups he had to perform since he had a kidney transplant.

There he tested positive for the corona virus, after which he was hospitalized.
