At one point they had become the most famous band in their country, after U2 of course: we are talking about the Irish Script who mourn today the loss of their guitarist, Mark Sheehan, co-founder of the power trio together with singer Danny O’Donoghue and guitarist Glen Power

Sheehan was only 46 years old and died in hospital after a short illness, the details of which are still unknown. Also because the guitarist was very private about his private life, married with three children, but little else was known about his daily life, also because he had no social profile, which is incredible nowadays. two associates, climbed the charts of Ireland and Great Britain, as indeed only Bono and company had managed to do, hitting the first place with the first eponymous album in 2008 and their delicate and intense pop. Other successes also in the following decade, but Sheehan had already taken a break last year, because he “eager to devote himself to his family”. He was back though. And this summer the band was supposed to accompany Pink on her summer tour. Who knows how he will do now: the Scripts knew each other as children, especially he and O’Donoghue and they were very close
