Co-founder and former bassist Bon Jovi passed away

The band was formed in the state of New Jersey and is named after frontman Jon Bon Jovi, whose real name is John Francis Bongiovi. Alec John Such was in the band during its heyday. For example, Bon Jovi scored worldwide hits in the 80s with songs like You Give Love a Bad Name in Livin’ on a Prayer.

In 1994 Alec John Such decided to leave the band and was replaced on bass by Hugh McDonald. In 2018 he returned briefly to mark the addition of the band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The cause of Alec John Such’s death has not been disclosed. He is 70 years old.
