CNTE emphasized: they will not return to face-to-face classes

The National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) warned that he will not be an accomplice of what may happen if he returns to face-to-face classes.

“We are not going to be accomplices of an irresponsible government that wants to take children in this way to classes so that they become infected.”

José Raciel from Section 18 of Michoacán expressed in a virtual conference that parents and teachers continue to be pressured to return to classes, “It is practically taking them to the cliff.”

The CNTE said no, upon returning to the schools.

“We are not going to return to face-to-face classes, if the government has not put in place the measures that the Coordinator has demanded, vaccination for all, infrastructure, water, sanitation, and more.”

He discredited the responsive letter that parents must sign and held the Federal and local governments responsible for the consequences to students and teachers in the return to schools.

“It cannot be the responsibility of the parents who, through any responsive letter, they have to be taking responsibility for that situation to return, it is an obligation of the Federal government, of the state governments … “

They clarified that they do not refuse to work.

“We reiterate, we will start the school year in a responsible way, we are not refusing to do it, only that we can do it in person”.
