CNR announced on May 23 the creation of a subsidiary, baptized Solarhona, entirely dedicated to the development of solar energy in the Rhone Valley, its historic region. This aims to deploy an additional 1,000 MWp by 2030 in the territories of the Rhone valley, prioritizing small-scale photovoltaic projects on the roofs of buildings, parking canopies as well as small ground surfaces and building plans. water. “The news shows us daily the urgency to act for the ecological transition and the energy independence of France. This context forces us to reconsider our models to accelerate the deployment of renewable energies. We know that the effort required will require agility, responsiveness, new solutions and innovation, listening and collaboration. As a historic concessionaire of the Rhône River, we have forged special and lasting ties with its territories. This is why we have developed Solarhona, a tailor-made approach to meet their needs, while fully involving them in the governance of projects, with a redistributive model that aims to be innovative,” said Laurence Borie-Bancel, Chairman of the Management Board of CNR.
Solarhona’s partnership and redistributive model will allow its partners (local authorities, companies, farmers) who wish to produce green, local and renewable electricity to be associated with the capital and governance of projects. It thus hopes to multiply by seven its photovoltaic power installed in the Rhône Valley by 2030. “Solarhona is a model inherited from CNR and representative of our positioning as a company-laboratory for the energies of the future. We offer a unique industrial model adapted to the expectations of local authorities, companies and farmers wishing to produce local, green electricity that respects life. We also have the ambition to contribute directly to the economic dynamics of the territories, since Solarhona’s activity is able to generate 600 direct and indirect jobs, which cannot be relocated”, added Julien Marchal, President of Solarhona and Director of New Energies. of CNR.
