CNAS, contract for interferon-free treatment in case of hepatitis C | Romania

The CNAS has signed the contract providing for the interferon-free treatment for patients with hepatitis C.

The National Health Insurance Company has signed the contract providing for interferon-free treatment for patients with hepatitis C – the decompensated form.

In addition, the negotiations for the interferon-free treatment of patients suffering from hepatitis C, forms F4, F3 and F2 with some associated diseases must be completed this week.

CNAS spokesperson Augustus Costache says what the next steps are before the drugs reach patients.

Augustus Costache: “For some of these contracts, the respective active substances must be included in the list containing the international common names corresponding to the medicines benefiting the insured and therapeutic prescription protocols must be drawn up by the specialized commissions within of the Ministry of Health On the basis of the respective protocol, the CNAS-level expert commission will develop the appropriate forms that will be filled in by the attending physician at the time of issuing the prescription and will no longer undergo the approval of these treatments by the expert commissions , as is well known, this approval was abolished from 1 March “.
