Charlotte, NC.- Approximately 500 children, including girls and boys, who reside in Highlands apartments (south of the city) received gifts as part of the annual Christmas event organized by the Steele Creek Division of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).
The event was held on Saturday, December 3, during which families from the said community were able to enjoy a few hours of fun, talk to CMPD officers and take pictures with Santa Claus.

Officer Claudio Jiménez said he was very happy to have heard the support of companies, institutions and people, for this event to become special for children this Christmas.
The head of the CMPD, Johnny Jennings, also attended the community program and was satisfied with the samples of cooperation received. “Thanks to everyone who came to this great event.”, he indicated on his Twitter account.
This was the fourth annual Christmas party hosted by the CMPD Steele Creek Division, this year the Highlands Apartments, located in Archdale Dr. where the majority of residents are Hispanic, were chosen.
This year’s community program had the collaboration and participation of members of the Organization of Hispanic Journalists of Las Carolinas (OHJTC), who became “Love Correspondents.”
