After the usual tracks and industry news, including an audio clip in which Randy Bachman definitely proves what the infamous Beatles ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ opening chord is, we kick off the interviews with Ryan Blake from The Road Heavy, who joins Andrew on the phone from Nashville where the group is currently recording. In addition, we have the last of our interviews for Canadian Music Week, this one with Luke Austin of the Luke Austin Band in Toronto. Luke discusses recording in Nashville with producer Vance Powell, visiting Third Man Records, touring on a train made famous by the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin in the film Festival Express, and more. Finally, we have Mercedes Arn-Horn from Courage My Love. The band have done a lot since they made the cover of Canadian Musician magazine a few years ago. They just re-released their EP “Becoming” and are working hard to write and record their next album. Our Canadian flagship song of the week is “Joey Ramone” from The Magic Man of Montreal.
