Welcome to our interview with Holger Siegmund Schultze, President of the KSC eV and Günter Pilarsky, Vice President of the KSC eV. Today, we will be discussing the structure and management of the association, Supervisory Board KGaA, and the ongoing projects of KSC GmbH & Co. KGaA.
Could you briefly introduce yourselves and your roles within the association?
Holger Siegmund Schultze: My name is Holger Siegmund Schultze, and I am the President of the KSC eV. I have been a member of the association since its inception and have held various leadership positions throughout the years. As President, my main responsibility is to oversee the overall direction of the club and ensure that it aligns with the members’ interests.
Günter Pilarsky: I am Günter Pilarsky, and I serve as one of the Vice Presidents of the KSC eV. My primary focus is on the financial health of the club, including budgeting, fundraising, and investment strategies.
Could you explain the relationship between KSC eV and KSC GmbH & Co. KGaA? How do these two entities work together to manage the club?
Holger Siegmund Schultze: The KSC eV is the controlling shareholder of KSC GmbH & Co. KGaA, which means that we make decisions on major club matters such as strategy, investments, and appointments of key personnel. The GmbH & Co. KGaA is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the club, including player transfer, sporting activities, and commercial ventures. This split structure allows us to maintain a close link between the members and the club’s management while also ensuring that the club’s decisions are financially sound.
Günter Pilarsky: The Supervisory Board KGaA plays a crucial role in this relationship. It consists of representatives from the eV, the Advisory Board, and external experts. Our main task is to monitor the performance of the club management and ensure that they are adhering to the strategic direction set by the eV. We also provide guidance and support on financial matters and help to resolve any conflicts that may arise between the two entities.
