Makhathini’s opening concert in the Cabaret des Péchés will start the new Club Life concert series, the aim of which is to bring the atmosphere of New York clubs to Brno. It will also feature New Jazz Underground, Gretchen Parlato & Lionel Loueke and Julian “J3PO” Pollack Trio or Keyon Harrold, Lakecia Benjamin, Takuya Kuroda and Trio Grande.
Bill Laurance and Michael League, members of Snarky Puppy, will also bring their own acoustic project to Brno. The festival will also offer a concert by JAMU jazz department students or a celebration of International Jazz Day.
“We want to show the incredible variety of jazz,” says Vilém Spilka, artistic director of the festival. “Brno is becoming a paradise for big world names, often crowned with Grammy awards. But I’m also happy that we will present a number of personalities for the first time in smaller spaces and then they will return to us as stars in a larger one.”
