Clothing chain H&M lays off 1,500 employees | Economy

Swedish clothing chain H&M is cutting around 1,500 jobs to cut costs. The company has it on Wednesday announced. When asked, a spokesperson says it is a global reorganisation. Job losses in the Netherlands are certainly not excluded.

H&M is allocating more than 73 million euros to finance the reorganisation. Last September, the company already announced that it needed to cut costs.

“Part of the savings program is that we are taking a closer look at the organisation. We are very aware that colleagues are being affected,” says managing director Helena Helmersson.
