closure of the Buxerolles center and postponement of appointments in Poitiers, the patients concerned in the blur

On Sunday January 9, the Buxerolles site will close its doors to vaccination. If the appointments made after this date should be transferred to the Poitiers exhibition center which reopens its doors from Monday 10, everything is not yet very clear.

Information message on the website of Doctolib when making an appointment for a vaccine injection at Buxerolles. “From January 10, the Buxerolles vaccination center moves to Hall A of the Poitiers exhibition center”, can we read at the bottom of the page of the site.

Operational since September 27, 2021, the vaccination center of Buxerolles had taken over from vaccinodrome of the Poitiers exhibition center, set up in April 2021 to provide an optimal response to the vaccine offer.

But from January 10, 2022, the reverse shift will take place. Faced with the increase in the number of requests for vaccination, in particular for a third injection, the prefect de la Vienne announced the reopening of the Poitiers Exhibition Center, with a capacity of up to 1,000 injections per day. The beaver room Buxerolles will therefore close its doors on January 9, 2022 at 18h.

For appointments made after this date, the ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine ensures that “all slots will be transferred directly to the Poitiers exhibition center, on the same day and at the same time. The persons concerned should receive a Automatic SMS from Doctolib to inform them of the change of address. “

However, many patients do not yet appear to have been warned of this transfer. This is the case of Charles-Henri, who learned of the change in the location of his meeting thanks to a Facebook post from the City of Poitiers. “I had to go to Buxerolles on January 11 and so far I have not received any information. Fortunately I saw this post but not everyone consults Facebook”, he says.

Worse, the dates of some patients no longer correspond: “I had an appointment on January 13 in the morning in Buxerolles, tells Angélique, who lives in this town. It was to be moved to Poitiers, but the exhibition center is closed on January 13. However, I received a message from Doctolib confirming my niche on the Buxerolles site “, she says.

Another paradox: on the Doctolib platform, the Buxerolles vaccination center still offers slots available from January 18. “An update error. Everything should be restored quickly”, says the ARS. If all goes as planned, the Poitiers vaccinodrome should welcome the public from Monday January 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
