The decision of the Consultative Committee to bring the Christmas holidays for the schools forward by one week is causing great concern in the retail sector. Primary schools will remain closed and parents who do not have childcare can apply for temporary unemployment. It is expected that certain stores will have to close. Trade federation Comeos asks that staff in essential shops such as supermarkets are entitled to priority childcare.
