Status: 14.12.2020 8:07 a.m.
Due to construction work in Hamburg-Stellingen, Autobahn 7 in Hamburg will be completely closed this weekend. The closure between the Hamburg-Volkspark and Hamburg-Eidelstedt junctions lasts from Friday evening at 10 p.m. to Monday morning at 5 a.m.
During the closure, a new traffic management system is to be set up in Stellingen. After completion of the west tube of the almost 900 meter long noise protection tunnel, it will initially accommodate all traffic, it said. The east tunnel, which went into operation in April 2019, is to be converted for four-lane traffic to the north by February.
Warning of traffic jams on Kieler Straße
–
The north branch of Autobahn GmbH recommends that national traffic bypass the blockade via the A1, A21 and B205. A spokeswoman for Autobahn GmbH warned that there would be traffic jams on the inner-city diversion route via Kieler Strasse, despite the two-lane traffic route. Drivers from downtown and the east of Hamburg can, according to the recommendation, also drive via the airport bypass to the Schnelsen-Nord junction. As a matter of principle, Autobahn GmbH recommends switching to the train and bus or avoiding driving to the city center during the closure.
Another full closure planned for the beginning of February
Another full closure of the A7 is planned for the first weekend in February 2021. Then the final traffic routing through both tubes will be established. The Hamburg-Stellingen driveway to the north will remain closed until February 8th.
