Closure hits the cinema hard – voucher sales

The partial lockdown hit the Astoria in ZWickau hard. “The pre-Christmas period is one of the best-selling times of the year,” said the director of the Filmpalast, Mike Riemenschneider. The failures are enormous, but the amount of damage cannot yet be quantified. He doesn’t expect it to reopen before the end of December.

Voucher purchases could now minimize losses, says Riemenschneider, relying on loyal cinema-goers. The vouchers are available online; and after Black Friday also this Saturday at the box office – from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
