” The film Blue Jean tells the story of LGBT people in 1980s England. The purpose of the screening at La Scala, Friday, June 30, is to be able to compare the situation of LGBT people at the time with ours. What has evolved? What has regressed? What is the same?…” Océane Feld, president of the Osmose association, which defends LGBT rights in Thionville, wants to “maintain an open debate” with the people in the room during the event. “Whether you are LGBT or not, the film debate is accessible to everyone. The objective is to question oneself and to exchange in benevolence. »
This is the first event of its kind on the initiative of the association. “We wanted to collaborate with the La Scala cinema for a long time. In addition, the film broadcast has not been released in theaters in Thionville since its launch on April 19, 2023. The Thionvillois have therefore not yet had the opportunity to go and discover it, ”underlines the young woman. She hopes to be able to offer this kind of action again in the future. In the second part of the evening, the association will take stock of the state of violence against the LGBT community in France. A balance sheet that is likely to be bittersweet.
