Closing ceremony sends Kavinsky, Phoenix and Yseult listening to a surge

Kavinsky’s global streams increased 143% in the same period, according to leading music streaming service Spotify.

The next most searched tracks on the app are “Lisztomania” and “If I Ever Feel Better,” two staples from French electro-rock band Phoenix, Shazam said.

Listening to Phoenix, which provided the music programming, increased by 227% worldwide (+133% in France) on Monday compared to Sunday, according to figures from Spotify.

The previous record was set by “Supernature” by Cerrone, another famous French DJ, during the opening ceremony on the Seine on July 26.

Spotify also recorded a jump in listens to “Comme d’habitude” (+695% on Monday compared to the day before), the title by Claude François which inspired Frank Sinatra’s version, “My Way”, covered Sunday by the French revelation Yseult. The singer also saw her number of listens increase by 12% worldwide on Monday compared to the day before.

Still on Spotify, “Sous le ciel de Paris”, a timeless classic played in particular by Edith Piaf and sung by Zaho de Sagazan at the Tuileries, saw a 96% increase in global + streams + between Sunday and Monday (+ 52% in France), with the young artist’s listening having climbed by 41%.
