Closed Prague restaurants are to start cooking lunches for children and seniors

This was stated by Deputy Mayor Petr Hlubuček (STAN). The project will start operating on Monday, November 9, 2020, and will help parents and restaurants overcome the crisis associated with measures against the spread of covid-19.

“The parents’ statement shows that one of the complications that families face in connection with the long-term closure of primary and secondary schools is the daily provision of lunches for children. Not all school canteens are in operation, sometimes due to the quarantine of employees, “said Hlubuček.

A map of the restaurants that will be involved in the project will be created. People will order lunch the day before. A single meal for everyone will always be served every day. “We see this as an opportunity for restaurants that have dramatically lost customers to bridge the period of coronavirus restrictions,” added Hlubuček.

On his Facebook profile, he asked his parents if they would use such services. “Yes, work, distance learning and cooking is superhuman performance,” is one of the answers with three exclamation marks.

Another of the women replied: “Sometimes yes, if I’m alone with a child and I still have to cook during a few conference calls and distance learning, I don’t know what to do before. Sometimes, with the support of local businesses, I solve lunch for both of them even today, when I can’t keep up. But it gets hard into the money. Especially when I fall into a group that doesn’t get nursing. “

Councilor Hlubuček replied that the economic dimension is one of the benefits of the project. “That’s why such lunches would be more affordable than commercial applications,” he wrote.
