Recently, the pilot project to develop the night economy associated with tourism development in District 7 has been approved by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for implementation from December 2023.

The pilot project to develop the night economy associated with tourism development in District 7 is expected to be implemented in 3 areas. Two areas of Crescent Lake – Anh Sao Bridge and Road No. 11N – Bank residential area will develop walking streets. However, the Sky Garden commercial and culinary street will be upgraded to meet the needs of the night economy development of District 7 as well as Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee approved the policy of implementing walking, commercial and culinary streets in District 7 from December 2023.

Specifically, at Crescent Lake – Anh Sao Bridge (Tan Phu ward, Tan Phong) it is proposed to establish a walking street, commercial – culinary and cultural area with 9,000 square meters.

Ton Dat Tien route (section from Nguyen Van Linh to Anh Sao bridge and the food court on Crescent Lake) still maintains walking street, culinary and commercial activities as before.

The minimum operating time of this walking street is from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., folk culture, sports, cultural and artistic activities will end before 10:00 p.m. Pilot period is 1 year.

Route No. 11N – Bank residential area (Tan Thuan Tay ward), authorities propose to establish a walking, commercial and culinary street with operating hours from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., from Friday to Sunday every day. weeks and days off, holidays and Tet.

Particularly for Sky Garden commercial and culinary street (Tan Phong ward), it is proposed to build an identity and upgrade shopping, culinary and entertainment activities at Nguyen Van Linh – Pham Van Nghi – Street 2 – Bui By Doan. Sky Garden area’s operating hours are 6:00 p.m. – 24:00 p.m. every day, piloted for 1.5 years.

Funding for the project is used from socialized sources.

Before the project was approved, the development of the night economy associated with tourism in District 7 received the consensus of the majority of relevant departments, branches and branches. According to the Department of Industry and Trade, developing the night economy associated with tourism will help District 7 exploit its potential and strengths.
