NEW YORK — If you haven’t driven down the New York State Highway this 2023, chances are you’ll notice something on your next trip.
What’s this? If you want to eat at McDonald’s you won’t find any more, not even one.
The remaining nine gold-arched restaurants at food and fuel hubs along the 569.83-mile stretch of highway throughout New York closed permanently on January 1, 2023, over contractual reasons.
All service areas (there are 27 in total along the highway, all open 24 hours a day) are now managed by Applegreen C-Store, which offers a variety of hot foods, as well as take-away sandwiches and wraps, salads, coffees, snacks, drinks and more. They are open seven days a week and have produce and goods from Taste New York.
