Clock Tower: Rewind unveils new trailer

Go back in time and discover a true pioneer of the survival horror genre! Independent studio WayForward, in collaboration with Sunsoft, Capcom and Limited Run Games, is excited to announce that Clock Tower: Rewind – an enhanced version of the original 16-bit Clock Tower game – is now available digitally on Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. This chilling classic is offered in its original form, with many additions and improvements. This distressing adventure is rated “Teen” by the ESRB and is available for €19.99.

With its original graphics, sounds and game mechanics dating back to its release in 1995, Clock Tower: Rewindpowered by Limited Run Games’ Carbon Engine, marks the first official translation of this iconic horror title, available outside of Japan for the first time. As Jennifer, an orphaned teenager, players will find themselves trapped in the Barrows family mansion, pursued by Scissorman – a murderous psychopath armed with shears. They will have to explore the mansion, discover its secrets and try to escape alive.

Players can experience this adventure in Original mode, unchanged from the classic Super Famicom version, or in Rewind mode, which adds additional content, such as additional enemy encounters and new places to hide, as well as practical improvements. Both modes are playable in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean and original Japanese.

In addition to the game itself, Clock Tower: Rewind includes a host of bonus features: a new animated intro with a theme song performed by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Silent Hill series), an ending song performed by Emi Evans (NieR series), new music by composer Dale North, comic strips animated with voices from Cat Protano, Jenny Yokobori, Suzi Hunter, and Gab Smolders, an interview with creator Hifumi Kono, a playable Japanese commercial demo, an art gallery, border artwork, saves, a rewind function and a music player.

Since its release in Japan almost 30 years ago, Clock Tower is often cited as one of the most influential games in the survival horror genre, with several sequels and spin-offs. With the launch of Clock Tower: Rewindplayers around the world will finally be able to experience its impact first-hand.
