Clock set back one hour to winter time: darker earlier in the evening

Winter time is officially standard time. Daylight saving time will start again on the last weekend of March 2022. Daylight Saving Time is set to better match the daylight hours in the summer months with the hours when people are awake. This would save electricity, because it stays light for an hour longer in the evening.

For a while there was talk that the twice a year change of the clock would come to an end. The European Parliament has expressed its preference for this, but that has been shelved in Brussels.
