Immune study: do infected or vaccinated antibodies develop?
–
Researchers at the University Medical Center Göttingen and the Hannover Medical School want to find out whether infected or vaccinated people develop antibodies against Covid-19 and how long these antibodies can be detected in the blood using certain test methods. For the study, we are now looking for participants over 85 years of age and other high-risk patients.

Little research into antibodies in high-risk patients
–
Elderly people and people with a weak immune system in particular have a high risk of developing corona. “This affects people who have to take medication because of rheumatism, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s disease or after organ transplants (…),” said Dr. Frank Müller from the Institute for General Medicine at UMG (University Medicine Göttingen) in a press release. So far, however, little research has been carried out into how these people’s bodies develop antibodies after an infection or vaccination. Therefore, people aged 85 and over and immunocompromised people are asked to register for the study.

The researchers accompany the study participants for a year. During this time, they should send in a blood sample five times and fill out a short questionnaire about their state of health – so participation takes place entirely from home.
